Cyber security involves preventing, detecting, and responding to cyber incidents with a view to preventing such incidents from causing devastating effects
What to do before?
You can take several precautionary measures among which are;

*Do not click on links or pop-ups, open attachments, or respond to emails from strangers.
*Always enter a URL by hand instead of following links if you are unsure of the sender
*Do not respond to online requests for your personal identification details. Reputable organizations like banks, schools and commercial companies, will not ask for your personal information online.
*Review privacy settings on your social media accounts to limit who you share information with.
*Many have fallen victim to cybercrimes because they did not trust their gut feeling.Anything that looks too good to be true is actually too good to be true.
* Phones, laptops and all devices that connect to the Internet and your social media user accounts must be password protected.Change your passwords regularly.
*Report all suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
